A bt of background on David...........
"Since a young boy I have always been fascinated by land speed racing and Bonneville in particular. My childhood heroes were the likes of Donald Campbell, Art Afrons, Mickey Thompson and Craig Breedlove...giants of daring-do...men whose whole lives were focused on one thing...going faster.
So when time and money allowed, I decided that I would follow in the tyre tracks of these childhood heroes. I had no pretension that I would in any way challenge or break any records, for me it was just being there, seeing that iconic image of the blue cloudless sky, the white salt set against the mountains and the black oil line disappearing into the distance...of being part of something really special.
This is the story of how Simon, my long time friend and photographer/technical guru/co-driver; my pit crew, aka my wife, and I took our car ”Go Fast Louis” to Bonneville. It is about our adventure, the incredible people we met, the fantastic and not so fantastic machines we saw and our various attempts at going faster."
