New Delhi, February 11th, 2021: Royal Enfield, the global leader in mid-size motorcycles (250cc-750cc), todayannounced the launch of the new Himalayan across India, Europe and the UK, in three new distinctive, terrain-inspiredcolourways, along with a range of upgrades. The versatile adventure-touring motorcycle will now be available in NewGranite Black (mix of matte and gloss), Mirage Silver, Pine Green, in addition to the existing colourways Rock Red,Lake Blue and Gravel Grey. With this launch, the Himalayan now gets the Make It Yours – MiY – initiative allowingcustomers to personalize and accessorize their motorcycle across all channels – the RE App, the website and atdealerships. The new Himalayan will also feature the Royal Enfield Tripper, simple and intuitive turn-by-turnnavigation pod. The new model also gets several upgrades to the seat, the rear carrier, front rack and a new windscreen,making the versatile adventure tourer even more capable and comfortable. 

Launched with a purpose of creating a distinct sub-category under adventure touring, the Himalayan has been hugelysuccessful, and has a growing community of adventure riders across the globe. Inspired by its community and riding enthusiasts, the Himalayan has consistently evolved with aesthetic as well asfunctional upgrades to enhance the overall ride experience, both on and off the road. The new Himalayan retains theoriginal versatility and vigour, and makes the ride experience more engaging by adding the Royal Enfield Tripper, afocused navigation display device for real-time directions, built with Google Maps Platform and paired via the RoyalEnfield App to the rider’s smartphone. With this launch, Royal Enfield also introduces the MiY tool on the Himalayanmaking it possible for customers to personalize their motorcycle with a host of accessories for added style, comfort andprotection including touring mirror kit, comfort seats, handlebar brace and pad, aluminium panniers and mounting kits. 

The new Himalayan comes with improved seat cushioning allowing riders to enjoy extended saddle time with even morecomfort. The new windscreen keeps the wind off the rider, thereby leading to more comfortable and enjoyable miles onthe saddle. The rear carrier on the new Himalayan now comes with an additional plate to ensure secure fastening andplacement of any luggage. Additionally the rear carrier is now also reduced in height, making it easier for riders to mountthe motorcycle. With the new and lean ergonomically adjusted front rack, the rider faces minimal interference around thelegs while riding, thus, improving the overall comfort and experience.

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan will be available in three new colourways – the new Granite Black , Mirage Silver,and Pine Green, adding to the existing portfolio of three colour variants – Rock Red, Lake Blue, and Gravel Grey.

Saltire Motorcycles Ltd ceased to trade on 31 August 2024.  Graeme Bain and Donald McNaught of Johnston Carmichael, 227 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 2ND were subsequently appointed as Joint Administrators of the company on 5 September, by Notice of Appointment by the directors lodged at Court.

The company has ceased trading and is no longer providing ongoing services or training to customers.  Any customers who are owed sums by the company and who paid by credit or debit card should contact their card provider in the first instance to establish whether their card provider is in a position to provide a refund.  Any customers who have prepaid for any goods or services by any other means, or are unable to recover sums from a card provider, should provide details of the sum outstanding by email to saltirecreditors@jcca.co.uk in order that their details may be added to the list of creditors.

Graeme Bain and Donald McNaught have been appointed as Joint Administrators of Saltire Motorcycles Limited to manage its affairs, business and property as its agents, without personal liability. Graeme Bain and Donald McNaught are licensed in the United Kingdom to act as insolvency practitioners by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.  The Joint Administrators may be considered Data Controllers of personal data as defined by GDPR. Personal data may be processed to meet legal and regulatory obligations. Johnston Carmichael LLP will act as Data Processor on the Joint Administrators’ instructions. Personal data will be kept secure and processed only for matters relating to the administration. Saltire Motorcycles Ltd remains the data controller for personal data processed for purposes that are not related to legal and regulatory obligations.
