An exhibition of original drawings, paintings and digital art by John Wright.

Having always loved Art and Design, and following a varied career since leaving school, in the late 80’s John took up an Illustration and Design course at Telford College.

Following his graduation he was offered a job at Edinburgh University as a photographic technician, before working in some of the most prestigious advertising and design agencies in Edinburgh. John worked on major promotions for many of the biggest companies in Britain. He was invited back to Telford College to lecture part time in illustration.

Late into the 90’s John was offered the post of Graphics Manager within the world renowned Institute of Petroleum Engineering at Heriot Watt University.

Here the primary focus was to oversee the development, design and publication of postgraduate teaching material for all the taught courses delivered by the Institute of Petroleum Engineering within Heriot Watt University.

However last year, he decided it was time for a change, again! He had lived in a digital world for so long. Constantly looking over the horizon to predict what the next big innovation would be and how he could exploit it had become tiresome. John yearned to go back to the simpler times of 1976 when art was created with just a pencil and a sheet of paper.

So here we have a gallery combining John’s passion for all things automotive and his obsession for art.

Test Ride Terms and Conditions:

Full motorcycle Licence and NI number required to be shown on the day to check licences
Appropriate riding gear must be worn at all times during the Test Ride
Test rides have a 40 minute time allocation between 9am and 4pm each day
Riders must be aged 25 years
(19 years for MT-03 test rides with full A2 licence)
no more than 3 penalty points on licence
Riders must abide by the Highway Code and are responsible for any/all offences under the Road Traffic Acts during the test ride
The motorcycle must be returned in the same condition as they received it
In the case of damage to the motorcycle during the test ride the insurance excess payable by the rider is £2,500.
Riders must be in a fit and healthy condition to ride
Our Sales staff have the right to refuse a test ride for any reason
1 goody bag per person (not per test ride!)

Join us on Saturday 7 April 2018 for an evening of adventure, as Nick regales us with tales from his latest adventure including foreign food, difficult terrain, very cold temperatures (down to -7 nick tells us!), motorcycles and more amazing stories from the world record breaking motorcyclist Nick Sanders.

An evening not to be missed…….including a Hot fork Buffet, Nick will share some wonderful tales, snippets of his filming of Russia, Siberia, the Gobi Desert, Mongolia, and in the intimate setting there’s the opportunity to ask Nick about his adventures. What better way to finish a busy day.

On display will be the Tracer 700 that Nick completed this amazing adventure on!

Nick Sanders is best known for his extreme motorcycle journeys. He has ridden around the world 7 times, including 2 record circumnavigations of the globe, the second time in 19 days 4 hours. Having also motorbiked the length of the Americas eight times, he presently holds the record for a double transit from Alaska to Ushuaia and back in 46 days.

Yet this “ordinary man in his extraordinary world,” as he describes himself in his two autobiographical volumes, also held the Guinness record for bicycling around the world, which he did in 138 days then a second time in 79 days.

He has also cycled to the source of the White Nile, across the Sahara to Timbuktu and the length of South America before taking two narrowboats across the English Channel and along the Danube to the Black Sea and back.

Nick has held pilots licenses to fly microlights and hot air balloons.

Event Details

Basic motorcycle maintenance is essential to keep your machine in top top condition, safe and to reduce the possibility of being stranded. It pays to know your way around your motorcycle, even just the weekly / daily basics.

We are delighted to offer basic general motorcycle maintenance workshops, where we will cover the basics with the guidance of our master technician Tommy.

The evening will consist of a brief intro into the pros of checking your motorcycle regularly, followed by a 30 minute, 1 to one session with each customer with their motorcycle on the bench finished off by a question and answer session.

Due to the nature of this workshop numbers are limited to 4 per session to ensure that everyone gets the most out of it.

Things covered in the Basic General Maintenance workshop includes:

Lights and Electrics
Wheels and Tyres
Brakes
Fluids
Chains and Drive Belts
Chassis
Cleaning

Terms and Conditions:

As spaces for each course are limited to 4 people, maintenance class payments are non-refundable.

It may be possible to change the date of your workshop, or for someone else to take your place given at least 7 days notice before the date of the class.

In the event that you cannot bring your own motorcycle, we will substitute it for one of our motorcycles. However please give us as much notice as possible.

Please arrive with your motorcycle at 5.30pm to get checked in. If you don’t have a motorcycle and still want to attend, we can provide a motorcycle for you to work on for the course.

The course will start from 6pm, finishing at 8.30pm (based on a full workshop of 4 people). If you arrive late you may be refused entry due to disruption to the other attendees.

Bring your glasses or lenses if you need them for close up work.

Please advise us of any medical conditions which we should be aware of in a workshop environment; and bring any medication you may need (eg inhaler).

If your motorcycle is from a manufacturer that we don’t service in our workshop, we will provide a replacement Yamaha or Suzuki 125cc machine for the duration of the workshop.
