Advanced Training

Saltire Motorcycles now offer advanced riding motorcycle courses designed to enhance your riding skills and potentially make you safer on the road!

Whether you have had your licence for years or have recently passed, these courses will cover all your needs.

Advanced Rider Training

For both courses, you will make regular stops throughout the day for the instructor to give you clear and concise feedback on how you are doing.

One of these stops will be at one of our favourite cafes where lunch will be provided.  Here the instructor will also take this opportunity to brief you on what you will be working on next.

1 Day Advanced Riding Course: £160

4 Day Advanced Riding Course: £599

The 1 day course is a taster of what you would learn in the 4 day course, with a brief overview of everything using the  'System of Motorcycle control':

  • improving observations so you can deal with hazards quickly and safely.
  • how to use acceleration, gears and brakes safely and efficiently.
  • safely overtaking and filtering.

Having completed the 1 day advanced riding course,
if you decide to sign up to the 4 day advanced course;  you will receive 50% of your money back from the 1
day course against the price of the 4 day course.

The 4 day course covers a mixture of cornering, overtaking, filtering, hazard perception and anticipation.

You will start with a short power point presentation before heading out on the road for a practical assessment of your riding, with regular briefings on how your skills can be tweaked and improved over the duration of the training.

The main focuses are on how to use the 'System of Motorcycle control' alongwith any other areas you wish to work on:

  • improving observations so you can deal with hazards quickly and safely.
  • how to use acceleration, gears and brakes safely and efficiently.
  • safely overtaking and filtering.

Please note that the 4 day course will not be over consecutive days.  The course will be staggered over 4-6 weeks subject to the instructors' availability.
